Created in Honor of our Loving Mother and Wife,
Megan Lum
Our beautiful mother and wife, Megan Lum, suffered a intra-cerebral hemorrhage of the cerebellum caused by a suspected rare and silent condition called Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) on November 5, 2016. Megan went to Heaven to serve the Lord on November 13, 2016 and we are comforted that she is watching over us now.
Megan is described by four strong characteristics besides her beauty, love and kindness. She represents high family values, is a devoted and loving wife, instilled principles of hard work and positive attitude and determination to her twins, and is greatly passionate with Christianity and faithful to God.
One of Megan’s family values is prioritizing family time. She was adamant that we all spend daily dinner time together, no matter how busy our schedules were. It was a special time for the four of us to vent or appreciate the day, and to share how family members can help or support one another. She wanted to make sure we did not lose focus on our priorities, that family was part of our reason to exist and learn from one another. This allowed us to be closer and stronger because it taught us to freely communicate and value one another. Over last 16 years, I do not recall our family not being together for dinner more than a dozen times.
As for my devoted and loving wife, the limited pictures provided speak for themselves. Megan and I spent as much allowable time together…maybe she knew God had earlier plans for her. Megan taught me maturity, love and emotions, a great challenge for folks who know my personality prior to meeting her. She is and always will be my love, best friend, and companion.
Motherhood is not a cake walk, especially with twins. Megan cheerished motherhood as it was a special feeling and responsibility she never regretted; she would do it all over again. Her hard work and dedication was instilled into the twins. She made sure the kids knew that life is an everlasting test with big challenges... that nothing should be taken lightly. She taught them to take these challenges positively while filtering out unnecessary distractions and emotions, to treat people with respect and to learn and listen from others.
Lastly, Megan is very faithful to God and Christianity. She leaned on Him for guidance during tough times and praised Him for every blessing He provided for our family. Over the last 5 years, I would consider Megan a born-again Christian. She began a journal consisting of scripture and meaningful messages that provided peace and positive outlooks. Her dedication and faith taught us the value of life, family, friendship and love. She is serving God now, but her values and principles will continue to live among us forever.
